Project overview
Conquest Electrical carried out the design and installation of the electrical services on the 3rd Floor, Rolling Stock Yard, Kings Cross, London for the client PacBio, an American biotechnology company, which wanted to set up a UK headquarters in London with a state-of-the-art demonstration area to display their product and train their scientific clients. The project involved sub-dividing the floor into an open instrument laboratory to host 10 sequencing systems with a sample processing area. A sample preparation lab and storage area were created to support the instrument lab.
Scope of Works
The scope of works included the full electrical installation design and works comprising CAT B fit-out, including associated mains switchgear, UPS systems, underfloor power systems, general and specialist internal lighting and lighting control systems, small power, and testing and commissioning. Key deliverables included LV Distribution, Containment System, Small Power, UPS Systems, Lighting & Lighting Control, Mechanical Power, Data & Telecoms, Fire Detection & Alarm, and Testing & Commissioning.
Results
The completed works comprised the electrical design and installation of the CAT B fit-out at Rolling Stock Yard, including the open instrument laboratory, sample processing area, sample preparation lab and storage area, together with LV distribution, containment systems, small power, UPS systems, lighting and controls, mechanical power, data and telecoms, fire detection and alarm, and testing and commissioning.
